2008 Acura RL

For 2008, the RL, Acura's flagship sedan continues to be one of the most technologically advanced vehicles on the road. Equipped with a 290-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 engine that employs a variable flow exhaust system, and Acura's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive, the RL is said to deliver unmatched handling and performance.

Super Handling All-Wheel Drive is capable of distributing the engine's torque from front to rear and side-to-side as needed to enhance acceleration, traction and cornering.

The engine is mated to a five-speed Sequential SportShift automatic transmission, which allows both manual and automatic operation using either the shift lever, or paddles behind the steering wheel.

Also available on the 2008 Acura RL is the Collision Mitigation Braking System, which monitors the distance between the RL and the vehicle in front of it and will automatically apply braking if a collision appears likely. It works with Acura's adaptive cruise control system which, when activated, will match the RL's speed to the traffic flow and maintain a consistent distance between the RL and the car directly ahead of it. Acura's Real Time Traffic works with the navigation system to route you around traffic backups when needed.
